509J Issues RFPs for Madras High School & Warm Springs K-8 Bond Projects

The Jefferson County School District has launched into the first phase of bond projects to address improvements and upgrades to Madras High School and Warm Springs K-8 Academy.

Voters in the 509J district approved a $24 million bond in November of 2021. The bond measure will specifically improve health, safety and security in all schools; repair and update aging schools; and expand vocational opportunities and early learning in Jefferson County schools.

The district has issued two Request for Proposals for projects identified at MHS and Warm Springs K-8 with the goal of selecting architectural firms by April. The design phases will begin in April 2022 with construction estimated to begin in early to mid 2023.

The following projects at Madras High School and Warm Springs K-8 will be addressed:

Madras High School

  • Roofing replacement
  • CTE Program space improvements
  • New soccer concession/restroom building and field lights
  • Roof-top HVAC unit replacement
  • Upgraded DDC Controls

Warm Springs K-8 Academy

  • Construction of a six-classroom addition, including restrooms
